Ruben’s story
Ruben’s Promise was founded by John and Tori in loving memory of their son, Ruben. Through Ruben’s Promise, they hope to offer comfort, support and a sense of connection to families navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives, while keeping Ruben’s memory and legacy alive.
In 2022, our beautiful son Ruben passed away suddenly from late onset Group B Strep, at just 33 days old. We were left devastated and lost not knowing how to process our grief. In the early days, we didn’t know what we needed. We spent time trawling the internet and found the Group B Strep Support website which offered support and told the heartbreaking stories of so many babies like Ruben, which helped us feel less alone.
Receiving a memory box before Ruben passed away, was the single most thoughtful thing, providing us with an opportunity to make precious memories with our son.
Our care boxes have been thoughtfully created to offer comfort and support to families, while providing meaningful ways to honour and remember their baby through reading materials and carefully chosen keepsakes.
The care boxes are provided completely free of charge, helping us to continue Ruben’s legacy and keep his memory alive by supporting other families during such a difficult time.
