When a baby is seriously ill, or a family is bereaved, the world can suddenly feel very different. Rubens Promise exists to offer a little care, comfort and practical support at that time.
Why we exist
Support in the moments no family expects to face.
We support families in England and Wales who have been bereaved by, or otherwise affected by, Group B Strep infection in a baby or infant.
Our support is intentionally simple and personal: memory boxes, comfort items, bereavement resources, information and signposting, offered through neonatal units, hospital bereavement teams or directly to families.

Thoughtfully prepared items that can help families create and keep precious memories of their baby.
Comfort items
Small, practical gestures of care for parents and families going through an incredibly difficult time.
Bereavement resources
Clear, compassionate information and signposting to help families find further support when they need it.
Support through hospitals
We work to reach families through neonatal units and hospital bereavement teams, as well as through direct contact.
What matters to us
We cannot change what a family has been through. We can make sure they do not feel forgotten in the aftermath.
That is the heart of Rubens Promise: recognising loss, offering something tangible, and helping families feel cared for at a time when even small acts can matter.
Awareness
Helping more parents know about Group B Strep.
Rubens Promise also raises awareness among expectant parents, using established NHS and Group B Strep Support guidance on the risks, prevention, detection and treatment of Group B Strep infection in babies.
We do not provide medical advice. Our role is to help more families know that this information exists and where to find it.

About Rubens Promise
Rubens Promise is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation operating throughout England and Wales. Its charitable objects are to relieve the emotional and practical needs of families and individuals bereaved by, or otherwise affected by, Group B Strep infection in babies and infants, and to advance public health and education by raising awareness and understanding of Group B Strep.
Donation facilities will be added once the charity’s banking arrangements are in place.
